Hudson East
Hudson East was a photoshoot project I worked on with a homebuilder client, Porchlight Homes. This community was a hub of luxury townhomes near Scottsdale, Arizona. Central to many amenities, close freeway access, and beautiful living conditions with nature right outside the front door—Hudson East was essential living area to be photographed. Here are some images used for their social media campaign to sell the units.
Editing
Mirrors are always so difficult to photograph. It doesn’t matter where I stand, there will always be at least one of me. After I took this shot, I had to go into Photoshop and take myself out 5 times using the polygonal lasso tool, clone stamp, and spot healing brushes.
Bracketing Images
This is a simple photo of a hallway, but it really shows the process of what it can take to use a flash inside a dark area to not add too much noise in an image with a high ISO. Setting up on a tripod, I first got my base shot. Then I shot an exposure with the flash going down the stairs, a fill shot to light this entire hallway, and individual shots in the laundry and master bedroom.
My process
Once the images were taken, I go into Photoshop and align the images. Even though they were shot on a tripod, they can be off by a few pixels so that is essential. Then I simply outline doorways and areas I want to change and brush in on a mask layer the light I want to ad. Over 5 layers of brushing I finished with one final hallway shot. I dragged that into Lightroom to adjust my color, and viola! Bracketing like this allows for depth especially when there are multiple rooms down a hallway and not close to the eye to see color and light.
