Jerky Branding

This is a mockup for an Idaho dry-meats distribution company that came forward asking for a new branding design to open up a jerky line for their excess meat products—specifically buffalo meat.

The Look

The company has nearly one-million dollars of left over buffalo meat each year that needed to be used for a jerky line. Buffalo is a cleaner, more lean meat than beef and the animals are naturally fed in their original habitat. I came up with the two concepts, “Open Range” and “Herdsman”. Using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Dimension I created the logos and mocked them up on packaging to fit the Idaho ranch-style company. I wanted the jerky to stand out in a modern, bold way so I used a dark matte packaging with bold red and white colors.
